VPAT Template Generator

Generate a Voluntary Product Accessibility Template for procurement and compliance documentation.

What is a VPAT?

A Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) is a standardized document that explains how a product or service conforms to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Government agencies, universities, and large enterprises require VPATs during procurement to ensure the products they buy are accessible. The VPAT format was created by the ITI and is widely used in the US (Section 508), EU (EN 301 549), and internationally.

Fill in your product details below, set the conformance level for each WCAG criterion, and generate a complete VPAT document ready to share with clients or procurement teams.

Why You Need a VPAT

A VPAT is essential for any organization selling software or digital services to government agencies, educational institutions, or large enterprises. Under Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, US federal agencies must procure accessible technology. The VPAT serves as proof that your product meets accessibility standards.

In Europe, the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and EN 301 549 standard require similar documentation. Having a VPAT ready shows procurement teams that your organization takes accessibility seriously and can streamline the buying process.

How to Use This Generator

  1. Enter your product details (name, version, company).
  2. For each WCAG criterion, select the conformance level that matches your product.
  3. Add remarks to explain any partial conformance or planned remediation.
  4. Generate and copy the HTML document to share with stakeholders.

For the most accurate VPAT, we recommend first scanning your website with FixMyWeb to identify existing issues, then using the remediation guide to fix them before completing your VPAT.
